Strong Beginnings Early Learning Center

Overview

Strong Beginnings is a 501(c)(3) early learning centre that combines developmentally appropriate child care with faith-enriched activities. The program serves infants through preschool-age children and employs a team of staff to provide daily care and learning experiences.

Approach and curriculum

Instruction and activities incorporate Christian teaching alongside developmental and pre-academic skills. The preschool program follows the God’s Little Explorer curriculum and the centre emphasizes language, motor development, social skills and early literacy through themed units, music, art and play.

Classrooms and services

Infant Room — A nurturing environment that accepts infants beginning at six weeks; the infant room has a stated maximum capacity of eight children and caregivers respond to feeding, changing and comfort needs.
Toddler Room — Activities support emerging language, fine and gross motor skills, self-care and independence through play, songs and books.
Twos — Focus on language growth, sensory and art activities, weekly Bible themes, early letters and numbers and support for toilet training.
Preschool — Classroom goals include name recognition, early writing, letter-of-the-week literacy, social skills, creative expression and preparation for kindergarten using thematic units and a faith-enriched curriculum.
