The Goddard School

Overview

The Goddard School of Skokie – Evanston/Wilmette provides early childhood education and full-day care for children from infancy through pre-kindergarten. The school serves families from Skokie and nearby North Shore communities.

Curriculum and approach

The school uses the Wonder of Learning® curriculum, a play-based program that integrates STEAM subjects and emphasizes curiosity, hands-on exploration and social-emotional development. Instruction is delivered by experienced classroom teachers.

Classrooms & programs

Infant — 6 w - 12 m. Care and developmental activities for very young children to support early exploration and routines.
Toddlers — 12 - 24 m. Focus on emerging mobility, language and social skills through guided play.
Twos — 2 - 3 yrs. Play-based learning that supports emotional regulation and hands-on discovery.
Bridge — 2.5 - 3.5 yrs. Transitional classroom that builds independence and preschool routines.
Preschool — 3 - 4 yrs. Cooperative learning experiences and more structured early academic and social activities.
Pre-K — 4 - 5 yrs. Preparation for kindergarten with development of school-readiness skills.

Health, nutrition and enrichment

Health and safety features include air filtration and other environmental controls.
Food and nutrition offerings note on-site meal service elements, including organic options and fresh fruit/vegetable snacks.
Enrichment and environment offerings include music appreciation, secondary languages, playgrounds and indoor activity spaces, along with a range of specialty topics such as world cultures and physical fitness.
