T.U.S.D.#1 - Johnson Preschool Program

Overview

Johnson K3 is an elementary campus that serves pre-kindergarten through third grade and emphasizes early language development, early cognitive skills, and early intervention as needed. The school practices project-based learning as a regular part of classroom instruction and provides classroom- and school-level enrichment options.

Curriculum and enrichment

Project-based learning is a priority in daily lessons. The campus offers GATE pull-out services and OMA enrichment programs. The preschool program implements the ASU-developed TELL curriculum for early language and literacy support.

Family support, services and policies

School meals are provided at no cost to students.
Snacks may be brought from home but are not to be shared and must be consumed during designated class snack breaks or lunch periods.
Transportation is available to elementary students who meet district mileage eligibility.
Onsite family-facing services are available through the Southwest Family Resource Center, including an open computer lab, clothing bank, food pantry, help with TUSD forms, information and referrals, and interpreter services when requested.
Parent volunteers and a parent-teacher organization (PTO) participate in school activities and supports.
