University Children’s Center is a campus-based early childhood center in the Student Resource Building and is part of UCSB’s Early Childhood Care & Education Services. The center provides full-day, year‑round care for young children of university-affiliated and community families.
The program emphasizes play-based learning, respect for children's development, and collaborative relationships with families. Lead Teachers hold a minimum Master Teacher Permit and Teachers hold a minimum Associate Teacher Permit; Teaching Assistants are UCSB students.
The center engages in campus and community collaborations that support nature-based learning, gardening and marine education, and supports parent involvement through classroom participation and a Parent Council.
Serves infants aged 3 months to 2 years.
Serves toddlers aged 2 to 3 years.
