Overview

The University of Texas Child Development Center is a group of campus child-care sites serving children from 6 weeks to 5 years. The program operates multiple locations on and near the UT Austin campus and publishes locations, hours, and capacity information for each site.

Approach & accreditation

The centers use a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum intended to support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. The program emphasizes creativity, diversity, and parent–teacher partnerships. The centers are accredited by Texas Rising Star and the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs.

Admissions, tuition & family information

The centers maintain a tiered waiting list and assign enrollment priority based on affiliation with The University of Texas at Austin and related eligibility criteria.
Families must meet eligibility rules; eligible groups include UT Austin faculty, staff and students, certain State of Texas employees, UT-affiliated partners, and (for some age groups) the general public.
Tuition is published by center and by household income tiers (A/B/C) and varies by location; the program posts detailed monthly tuition rates for each site and age group.
There is a $60 waiting list application fee; additional fees and policies include an enrollment deposit ($150, with $100 applied to September tuition and $50 a non-refundable materials fee), a late payment fee ($3 per day after the 5th), late pick-up fees ($10 per 10 minutes, with escalation after repeated late pick-ups), and a 60-day written withdrawal notice requirement.
Parent resources include a Parent Central hub with calendars, policies, menus and a Parent Advisory Council and local parent committees to provide feedback and support.
