Village Nursery School

Overview

Village Nursery School is a DCFS‑licensed preschool in Roscoe that serves 3‑ and 4‑year‑old children in half‑day sessions during the school year. Sessions are scheduled for 2½ hours each.

Approach and curriculum

The program combines introductory academic activities with Christian instruction. Daily classroom components include prayer and Bible stories, age‑appropriate introduction to academic skills, music, arts and crafts, free play, snack and outside play when weather permits. Activities such as puzzles, crafts and manipulative toys are used to develop physical coordination; social and emotional growth is addressed through group play and cooperative activities aimed at sharing, kindness and self‑respect.

Programs and schedule

4's Class — meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30–11:00 AM; half‑day session focused on kindergarten readiness and classroom routines.
3's Class — meets Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30–11:00 AM; half‑day session emphasizing social skills, play‑based learning and introductory academic concepts.

Field trips are offered several times per year. Classes include a snack period and outdoor play when weather allows.

Enrollment and fees

Enrollment requires completed registration forms, a non‑refundable registration fee and the first month’s tuition at the time of registration. Children must be potty trained and must be 3 or 4 years old before September 1 of the entering school year. A current physical with up‑to‑date immunizations is required on file before attendance. Tuition for 2026–2027 is listed as $240/month ($2,160/year) for the two‑day (TU/TH) class and $280/month ($2,520/year) for the three‑day (MWF) class; the registration fee is listed as $140. Payments are accepted by cash or check as stated in the registration materials.
