Village Preschool

Overview

Village Preschool is a licensed preschool that serves young children and emphasizes play-based learning and social-emotional development. The program describes an integrated approach to intellectual and emotional instruction intended to support whole-child development.

Approach and curriculum

Instruction is play-based and incorporates social and character education alongside academic learning. The program follows the California Preschool Learning Foundations and targets domains including social-emotional development, language and literacy, mathematics, visual and performing arts, physical development, health, history–social science and science.

Families, routines and operations

Daily routines include group/circle time, guided classroom activities, outdoor play and rest/nap periods.
Families provide daily lunches and take turns providing AM snack; the program does not heat children's lunches.
Enrollment procedures include sign-in/sign-out requirements and identification checks for unrecognized adults.

Staff and policies

Staff collectively report extensive experience in early childhood education and the site lists a teacher-to-child ratio of 1:6.
Policies cover illness exclusion, medication administration procedures, rest/nap expectations, and behavior guidance that can include brief supervised calming breaks or temporary separation when necessary.
