Winters State Preschool Center

Overview

Winters State Preschool Center is funded by the Early Education and Support Division of the California Department of Education and serves as the preschool program for the Winters Joint Unified School District. The program focuses on developmentally appropriate early education with an emphasis on literacy, language, cognitive, and social-emotional development.

Approach & Curriculum

The program uses intentional approaches to deliver an educationally enriched curriculum aligned with the California DRDP. The program is founded on beliefs that include valuing students' primary language as an asset, respecting cultural and linguistic diversity, encouraging parent involvement, driving instruction by student needs, and targeting instruction to maximize student growth.

Enrollment & Family Information

Enrollment is subject to income eligibility. The program publishes monthly gross income limits by family size for eligibility purposes and provides a parent handbook and related resources. Visitor guidelines require signing in/out, limiting disruptions during instructional time, and following staff instructions while on site.
