Overview

YMCA Children’s Learning Center serves infants through pre‑kindergarten and offers full‑ and part‑time classroom options. The center provides early education and childcare services for families in the Rockford area.

Curriculum and learning

The program uses the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment framework. Core classroom content includes early literacy, math, science, social studies, arts, technology, healthy habits, and social development. The curriculum materials describe five components of the approach: child development and learning, the learning environment, what children learn, the role of the teacher, and the role of the family.
